Hi! I’m Ms. Sandra Ducote and I teach gifted geometry. This will be my 38th year in education. I am still in business because I love children and teaching. I thoroughly enjoy the interaction with students and the challenges they face in geometry. Geometry is taught to help students approach problems in a logical, orderly fashion. It is probably one of the most difficult subjects the student will take in high school. Parental supervision would probably be advised.
I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Southwester Louisiana (Now ULL), my master’s degree from Nicholls State University, and am highly qualified and gifted certified. I have taught subjects from seventh grade math to pre-calculus during my career, but my passion is geometry, which I have taught for the last twenty-three years.
Geometry is a difficult subject requiring students study daily and keep up with assigned work. It is very easy to get behind and very, very difficult to catch up. I tutor in the morning from 6:40 to 7:10. Students just need to come up with questions on homework or work they were unable to complete. I do demand a lot of students and am willing to work with them.
I do like to keep in touch with parents. If students fail to do assigned work I will make an effort to work with the student. If students still do not do assigned work I will get in touch with parents. It is easiest by email, so I will gather email addresses at open house. If I receive no response to emails or parents have no internet access, I will call during school hours.
