Greetings to both Parents and Students for the 2010-2011 school year.   Welcome to World Geography.  Geography is the study of the physical and cultural world.  These two factors, physical and cultural, impact one another.    I will guide the students in acquiring the discipline of Geography, so that they may view the world from the viewpoint of geographers.

Students are required to bring pencil, pen, and LOOSELEAF paper to class daily.  I will provide a folder in which the students will keep their daily work and handouts.

All homework and special assignments will be posted on my website at the web address given above.

Class rules are quite simple.  Students will show respect for others, especially Mr. Haywood.  All school rules regarding behavior will be observed.  Students are tardy when the tardy bell begins to ring, not while it is ringing.  Students are to enter and depart by the front door only.  Do not litter, leave materials such as returned tests and assignments, or any other objects in the classroom.

Parents and students wishing to communicate with me are encouraged to use the email account given above.  This is much more effective than the phone.

My first duty is to teach the basic curriculum, then to expand and enrich the education experience based on the diverse needs and interests of the individual student.

                                                                            Sincerely,

                                                                            Richard Haywood
