1. In order to be eligible to receive grades, high school students must be in attendance a minimum of 80 days per semester.
2. Upon returning to school after an absence, a note from home, doctor, court, etc. stating a reason for the absence is required. The note must be brought to the attendance office, signed by an administrator and excused or unexcused in accordance with the law on pupil attendance. An admit slip must be attached to an excuse and the student must present it to each teacher upon returning to class.
A note from a parent or guardian DOES NOT excuse an absence.
3. The note must be presented to the teacher within 72 hours if it is excused, so that the student can make up missed work. Any parents' notes must be signed by an administrator.
4. Students attending a discipline center must bring the proper paper work to school and show it to all teachers in order to make up missed work.
5. School work cannot be made up for unexcused absences. Students are given two days per day missed to make up any missed work due to an absence or disciplinary actions.
