The McKinley Mu Alpha Theta members are actively participating in math activities.  Mu Alpha Theta members volunteer their time as peer tutors after school. They also participated at the Baton Rouge High Tournament on October 7th, 2006.

            Carolyn Chun, a grad student at the Louisiana State University math department, is a practice coach for the McKinley Mu Alpha Theta club. She provides difficult problems, creative solutions for difficult problems, and helpful advice in all things math. Carolyn is a part of GK-12 program, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, which integrates graduate students into local schools.
