  • Gifted Program has been an integral part of McKinley High School for 26 years. Students may participate in gifted classes, take AP classes for college credit, Honors classes, or have concurrent enrollment during their junior and/or senior years.  These programs encourage and enhance the development of higher level thinking skills and creativity and positively impact the general student population as well.

·        The Talented Arts Program has been servicing students at McKinley High for approximately 12 years. Students who are identified as talented by state criteria may take classes in Talented Music, Talented Theater, and/or Talented Visual Arts.  The talented programs provide experiences that enable talented students to further develop and grow as artists.

·        The Great Scholars Academy is a rigorous education program is designed to parallel the gifted program.  Students entering the program must have two masteries or abobe on a standardized test or 84% proficient in a screening and a 2.5 GPA.  The Great Scholars Academy students take weighted core curriculum courses taught by our highly qualified and gifted certified teachers.  These course are taught separately from the gifted courses.
