McKinley's long history as a premier educational institution in the Baton Rouge community continues into the twenty-first century.

Academics are the main focus of the educational experience at McKinley. Our students have opportunities to follow curricula for jobs and for college preparation.

Traditional high school courses are offered in addition to a curriculum for the academically gifted and talented. McKinley also offers courses for those students designated as talented in visual and performing arts.

Arts have an important place in the curriculum. Courses in music, dance, theater and visual arts are offered to all students.
